SOUTH CHURCH
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesdays at Two
Tuesdays at Two is a welcoming group focused on literary discussion, fellowship, and genuine connection. Together, we share conversation, laughter, and encouragement, creating a space where all feel valued and supported. As a community of faith, we embrace both the joys and challenges of life, uplifting one another and growing together. All are welcome to join us.
Contact Lisa G. for more info at community@southucc.org
Bible Conversation & Study
Pastor Kevin leads Bible Conversation & Study every Wednesday at 10 am. We’ll reflect on past Sunday’s readings and sermons, and look ahead to the coming week’s scriptures—helping us hear and process God’s word more deeply. You may even share an insight that shows up in one of Pastor Kevin’s sermons! All are welcome! No special Bible knowledge needed…just bring an open heart and mind.
A New Beginning in Worship: The Prayground
On May 17th we launched a Prayground – a space at the front of the sanctuary where children engage in worship through movement, creativity, and hands-on experience. It’s about creating connection, participation, and shared faith across generations. Come be part of it. You belong here.
Godspotting 2026
With the season of summer upon us, the Board for Community Engagement invites you to participate in a community photography exhibition this fall by sharing images of places and moments where you experience the presence of God during this glorious time of color, travel, tradition, and renewal.
Do you feel the closeness of God at the beach, on a mountaintop, or in the woods? Perhaps while visiting with a friend, birdwatching, tending a quiet morning garden, walking at sunset, or gathering around the family table?
If it feels meaningful to you, please take a photograph of this sacred space or experience to share with our community. Photographs for the exhibit should be submitted to Lisa G no later than August 31. To ensure clarity and visibility in the display, photos sized at least 5 x 7 inches are appreciated. Photos can be dropped off at the church office or mailed in.
Photos may also be submitted throughout the summer to be featured on our Facebook page. To submit a photo and reflection, please email Lisa G at community@southucc.org and include your name, where the photo was taken, and a brief reflection describing how you experienced God in that moment.
We encourage you to remain mindful of where God is speaking to you this summer — where you feel most at peace, renewed in spirit, or inspired by a new thought or idea.

GREETING
Dear friend...
If you are visiting this website for the first time, and want to know a little bit about us, we are an open and affirming, welcoming Church. We don’t just say it, we live it. No matter where you are on life’s journey you are welcome here at South Church.
We are a people belonging to a community of faith, where it is possible to sense the divine presence among us, not only during worship, but even as we walk through the doors into our Church. Hospitality is not an abstract idea at South Church. It is an authentic aspect of the character of our congregation. We are a joyful congregation, always looking for others to join us in worship, community, and God’s service to each other, our surrounding community and the world.
We are guided by the Holy Spirit where it is written in our By-Laws that we believe the Holy Spirit will create within us the strength to carry out God's mission as we receive it from scripture and faithful prayer. We aren't afraid to rely on the breath of God to inspire our plans, decisions and discussions concerning every aspect of church life. We trust that God can do for us what we couldn't possibly do for ourselves or by ourselves.
We are a people who worship together, find fun opportunities together within and without our Church walls, and offer many opportunities for service. We have found that it is helping and serving others in doing God’s work that is what most enriches our lives.
Jesus said to the first disciples: "Come and see." We pray that you too will want to "come and see" South Church, and experience our Community of Faith, Love, and Joy.
Yours in faith,
Our Congregation
